2026 Membership Opportunities

The annual O.C.B.C. membership drive will take place during the month of January by means of the following:

PROCESS:

1. A Member in good standing may only propose or sponsor two people for the waitlist each calendar year.

2. A person (“applicant”) is only allowed to apply for the waitlist one time each calendar year.

3. A person (who is 21 years old at the time of application and) interested in O.C.B.C. waitlist (“applicant”), may come into the club during the month of January with their proposer and 2 sponsors to fill out the waitlist form including required signatures and pay a non-refundable form fee of $50 to the bartender. Incomplete forms will not be considered.

4. After January 31 a name pull will be held to determine the order of the wait list. The list will be posted at the club, website and FB by the February General Membership Meeting.

5. After the Membership Committee Chairperson has been notified by the Secretary of the number of available memberships, the Membership Committee will notify the same number of applicants on the wait list. Should any applicant decline for any reason, that applicant will be removed and the next applicant on the list will be contacted. First 2 openings are reserved for family members per bylaws.

6. After a waitlist applicant is notified of an opening, they will need to come into the club with the same proposer and 2 sponsors to complete a membership application. The membership committee will determine a date and time to meet with the applicants. All applications will be reviewed by the membership committee. Any fraudulent applications will result in disqualification.

7. Each applicant shall be voted on at a General Membership Meeting. The applicant and proposer or sponsor of record must be present on voting day. If any of the proposer/sponsors are unwilling to appear and respond to questions asked by the membership or endorse the applicant, then the applicant shall be dismissed.

8. Voting shall be done by a secret ballot on individual slips of paper by writing either yes or no. A two-thirds (2/3) majority of votes cast shall be required to approve a new applicant. An applicant shall be permitted one vote per calendar year.

9. Applicants who are approved for membership following the vote will pay the initiation fee, membership dues and script according to the bylaws.

10. Throughout the year, should a membership position become available, the next applicant on the list will be notified and offered the opportunity to fill out a membership application and appear before the General Membership for voting (see #7 and #8.)

11. Any membership forms received after January 31 will be added to the bottom of the wait list in order of the date and time of receipt of payment to the bartender.

12. A Membership wait list will be cleared completely on December 31 each year. **2026 OCBC
